"It's Finally Over"

The time has come;
To say our good-byes.
I feel the tears;
Welling up in my eyes.

I've seen it coming;
For a long time now.
But I kept on hoping;
We'd make it, somehow.

But, I can see clearly;
It wasn't meant to be.
I was never really yours;
It was never you and me.

It's time to move on;
For your sake and mine.
Our hearts will soon mend;
When given some time.

We'll always have memories;
Some good and some bad.
Of the time we both shared;
And the feelings we had.

It's good that we agree;
That it's time for the end.
And know in your heart;
You'll always have a friend.
