Please Forgive Me

I hope that you can find a way;
Inside your loving heart.
To forgive the hurt that I have caused;
That made us drift apart.

I was foolish I'll admit;
And acted without thought.
And never realized what I did;
And the pain that I had wrought.

I know that I was selfish;
And should have thought of you.
And the consequences I now face;
And what I have to do.

So please accept my apology;
As it comes straight from my heart.
All I ask is one more chance;
For us a brand new start.
