You Are

So many things
you are to me;
I'm writing them here
for you to see.

You're the beating of my heart
that keeps me alive.
You're the blood in my veins
that helps me survive.

You're the air that I breathe
into my lungs each day.
You're the light in my darkness
which shows me the way.

You're the food I take in
which nourishes me.
You're the sight in my eyes
which allows me to see.

You're the clothes on my back
which keep me warm.
You're the sense of well being
which keeps me from harm.

You're the peacefulness I feel
that allows me to sleep.
You're the sense of honesty I have
for promises I keep.

All that I am
and ever hope I can be;
Is because of the love
you have given to me.
