"First Love, Forever Love"

Nothing can ever compare to it;
The first love that you know.
It's a feeling that never returns again;
And sometimes, it continues to grow.

Whoever they are, and wherever they go;
They sometimes linger in your heart.
The rest of your life, they still remain;
A forever, important part.

You meet someone else, and fall in love;
And even marry them one day.
But even then, at certain times;
The first love, comes back to stay.

The years go by, and you get older;
And you eventually loose track.
But sometimes you just cannot forget;
And you long to have them back.

They may always remain a part of you;
Somewhere, in the back of your mind.
No, there's nothing like your first love;
It's a completely different kind.

But reality soon sets in for you;
And you're forced to face the fact.
That love took place a long time ago;
And you know you can never go back.
