He Is Just Asleep
I looked lovningly upon his face;
As he lay there in his rest.
He was oh so still lying there;
His little hands folded cross his chest.
He looked so cute in his baby blue;
His hair was golden brown.
He lay there oh so quietly;
Blue carnations all around.
He isn't even a full year old;
Yet he sleeps an endless sleep.
He has gone to Heaven now;
For God, his soul to keep.
They're all saying "He's just asleep".
Yet I must disagree.
Becasue I am left alone here now;
He is no longer here with me.
No longer will I feel his warmth;
Or touch his soft white skin.
Or feel that special bond we had;
That came from deep within.
If he is quietly taking a nap;
Why are these tears upon my face?
Why does that little angel lying there;
Look so out of place????
