"If I Were A Poet"
If I were a poet;
I could write most anything.
I could make hearts cry real tears;
Or I could make them sing.
I could change things in this world;
Through the magic of my word.
I could even change what people see;
Or change the things they heard.
If I were a poet;
I would be like a magician;
Writing thoughts on paper;
Like the notes of a musician.
My words could change the way one feels;
Or express my thoughts on love;
They could tell of loving memories;
Or ones belief in God, above.
If I were a poet;
That would be enough for me.
For all my thoughts would be laid out;
For everyone to see.
