"My Walks"
I love to go for walks each day;
And not just for the exercise.
I love to look at all there is to see;
Right there before my eyes.
I usually walk in my neighborhood;
Where there is plenty for me to see.
I love to take it all in my mind;
It's so fascinating to me.
There are many different homes to see;
All colors shapes and sizes.
And around every corner I take;
Always something new arises.
There are many different kinds of trees;
All in full bloom everywhere.
And some give off a special smell;
That seems to fill the air.
And of course there are the flowers;
Different kinds and beautiful hues.
Placed so neatly in all the yards;
Pretty pinks, and yellows and blues.
Many times I meet other people;
They're walking just like me.
Perhaps they found that feeling I get;
The feeling of being free.
Free to enjoy the beautiful sky;
And the smells that fill the air.
Ands the beauty I find in all I see;
And the feeling to just be there.
Sometimes people are walking their dogs;
And some are jogging, too.
Some are even riding their bikes;
And I wave as they come through.
Walking is so satisfying for me;
Any day or any time.
Cause it never fails to offer me;
Excitement and peace of mind.
