My Class of '65

I page through my high school yearbook;
From the class of sixty-five.
I gaze at the pictures before me;
And think, I wonder who's left alive?

Mary became a schoolteacher;
A Mother, and a wonderful wife.
But, just one very short year ago;
Cancer came, and took Mary's life.

Jeff was the classes’ only clown;
I remember, like it was yesterday.
But over ten long years ago;
A brain aneurysm, took Jeff away.

Bob was very quiet and shy;
And he did his tour in Viet Nam.
I heard that he came back alive;
But, he came back with just one arm.

I have lost track of so very many;
But, I remember most of them well.
I wish I knew where they were now;
But, there's just no way for me to tell.

But, as I gaze at their pictures;
At all the young faces I see.
Then I remember Mary, Jeff and Bob;
And, not knowing, is fine with me.

I just want to remember them now;
As they look here, upon these pages.
Then in my memories, and in my mind;
They will not change, throughout the ages.
