A RAINBOW FOR CLARE
I would like to catch a rainbow;
And take it from the air.
And present it to my daughter;
My beautiful daughter, Clare.
Each color would be a treasure for her;
With gifts for her to hold.
And each would carry gifts for life;
Filled with treasures to unfold.
The blue is for the skies on high;
And their beauty from above.
Filled with all the stars they hold;
To remind her of my love.
Yellow is for the beautiful sun;
And all the warmth it sends on down.
She could wrap herself inside of it;
Whenever she is down.
Green is for the beautiful fields of grass;
And the flowers that they bring.
So everytime she needed them;
It would be a breath of Spring.
Purple would be the most plentiful color;
So she would always have a large sum.
Because it would always remind her;
Of the rainbow that came from her Mum!
