Wings
I am simply fascinated;
By certain little things.
And one that truly excites me;
Are the items known as wings.
It's amazing where you find them;
On the ground and in the sky.
Always when you find them;
They're on beautiful things that fly.
Butterflies are beautiful insects;
Of so many different hues.
The blacks and oranges on the Monarchs;
And those in beautiful yellows and blues.
And then of course you have the birds;
That fly with grace across our skies.
The beautiful songs they sing in our ears;
And the beauty they bring to our eyes.
There are the wings on airplanes;
That take us to far away places.
And then return us home again;
To see friends and families faces.
Last of all, Heaven's own winged angels;
That watch over us night and day.
With a gentle hand on our shoulder;
Ever present to show us the way.
