The Pain Of Losing Friends

I thought that nothing could ever hurt this way.
But, I found out what it really feels like today.
For years you think they are your friends.
Then with a misunderstanding, all of it ends.
You think you know each and every one.
As over time, good friends you've become.
You talk openly and freely to all of them.
Only to find out, it will all come to an end.
You gave what you thought, was your very best.
Now, you cry, your heart pounding in your chest.
At first, it was total pain and hurt that you felt.
And then you ask, "What is this setback I was dealt?"
All of a sudden, in just a short time.
I realize these friends, maybe weren't mine.
It's a pain and a hurt that will last a long while.
But, I still have good friends that can make me smile.
And, it's okay, no hatred or bad feelings will stay with me.
Cause everyone of you, had a place in my life, you see.
"Everything happens for a reason." I always say.
I guess God was trying to tell me something today.
I wish you all well, and nothing but the best.
During the time I was with you, I felt truly blessed.
I have no regrets, and will remember you in my heart.
The only pain left, is that it's now time to part.
