What Is A Friend

You can meet a friend at anytime;
In anyplace or anywhere.
Once you find one, you'll know it;
You'll know by the way they care.

Your friendship will grow over time;
And get stronger as days go by.
A friend will always be there;
Standing close, by your side.

They will know what you're thinking;
You won't have to say a word.
They will offer whatever you need;
Cause your thoughts were overheard.

They can tell by the look in your eyes;
Or perhaps by the look on your face.
They know when you need a smile;
Or a gentle hug or embrace.

They know when you want to talk;
Or when you want to be alone.
You won't have to let them know;
Your feelings and thoughts are known.

The joy is in just being with them;
And sharing each others space.
They have a way of making you happy;
All troubles they seem to erase.

If you want to see a "special" friend;
There's one that's really near.
Just take a real good look at YOU;
Next time you pass a mirror.
