For MY #1 Son

I was blessed with two sons;
And I thank God, every day.
Both of you are special;
Both in a differnt way.

I already wrote about Eric;
Special because he is deaf.
But Chris, you're also "special";
And stand far above the rest.

I remember playing with you;
We played ball out in the yard.
I watched you like a mother hen;
I was always on my guard.

I taught you how to play marbles;
And how to hit a ball.
Those are some of my fondest memories;
Just some that I recall.

You used to keep me company;
In the house alone at night.
Your smile lit up my world back then;
You kept away my fright.

I remember we played so many games;
Espicailly Monopoly;
You were such joy in my life;
More than anyone could see.

Now I feel we have a bond;
It's comaprable to no other.
It's a "special" bond between us;
Known only to a son and his Mother.

I'm thankful for so many things;
Things I've seen and done.
But most of all I thank the Lord;
For making you my son!
