My Daughter
I lovingly call her my daughter;
Yet she is my daughter-in-law.
But I knew when she married into the family;
I got the luck of the draw.
God never saw fit to bless me;
With a daughter of my own.
I was blessed with two sons instead;
And now they both have grown.
She came into my life a while ago;
But I felt it from the start.
That she would be the daughter I never had;
And found a place in my heart.
We can talk about anything;
Like a Mother and daughter should.
I couldn't have picked a better daughter;
Even if I could.
My only regret is we live apart;
They live so far away.
But she is always in my thoughts;
Each and every day.
Thank you God for sending me her;
And my son choosing her as his wife.
But most of all I thank you, God;
For putting her in my life.
