Christmas Present
Christmas today is too commercial;
Running around for presents to buy.
And all the biggest companies;
For your patronage, they vie.
People rushing everywhere;
With last minute shopping to do.
You wonder if you should buy for some;
Cause they may buy something for you.
All the credit cards are getting maxed;
So many are going deeper into debt.
Calling up the credit card company;
"Have I reached my maximum yet?"
"I need to have you raise my limit."
"For my shopping is not done."
Just when you think you've finally finished;
You think of yet, another one.
You can't forget the paperboy;
And the kid's teachers need a gift.
You'll be working long hard hours to pay;
And maybe even another shift.
Christmas Present is just what it says;
And I don't mean the Christmas of today.
It means buying gifts for all you know;
And taking the whole next year, to pay!
